Folklore: A tale of Fire Ghost (One)

Folklore: A Taleof the Fire Ghost (One)
Kishor Subba Limbu

Times before along,
Mansare Pari (another side of the Mansare field) There would brook out an origin of fire torches from Kol Dandai Danda (through Kol hill to the hill), and it would spread out to many other torches. Sometimes they all suddenly turned off and remained the original torches, and sometimes they spread out at the same time all over the hills with too many fire torches. The fire ghost used to travel through Kol Danda to Sati Danda and then towards Sakhuwa. It used to cross the hill from the Bhalukhop, then travel to the other side of the hill. Sometimes, it travelled through the Mansare field to the monastery, then downward from the small walking route to the Khamare Village.

Once upon a time, Lama Baje (the old man, the storyteller) was attending his Lama education night school. He could see the fire ghost from a distance back then. The fire ghost used to travel in a big group, gossiping like many people were travelling together. But he couldn't see any humans around, and he couldn't decode the language they were speaking. He just saw the firemen walking on the route. They used to spread in many flames at times, and then all of them would suddenly go out, leaving only the original one flaming.
The fire ghost has had no negative effects in the village.
