Folklore: A Tale of BanJhankri (The Jungle Shaman) (One)
Kishor Subba Limbu

Once upon a time, in the winter, the shepherds reached their castles on the Sabha River's riverside. Fathers are going to the village one day. They were two little boys who did their shepherding during the day and planned to sleep together at night. But they are proposing to each other in his cowshed. They both refused to go to each other's houses to sleep. Then they decided to sleep in their own cowshed. It was a fully dark night during the eclipse.

There was a big rock cliff under one of the cowsheds. Banjhakri (the jungle shaman) used to live in the rock cliff during the eclipse's dark night. The Banjhakri started worshipping by playing the drum, plates, bell, and other musical instruments.

The worshipping of the Banjhankri could be heard clearly from the cowshed at the top of the cliff. The boy who was sleeping on the cowshed got afraid of the sound, and he rolled himself into the quilt.

He apologised for not going to sleep with his friend, and he tried to sleep as fast as possible. When he felt himself laughing on his toe, he woke up laughing and laughing. When he woke up, he was in swampy mud, and when he opened his eyes, he saw something giant standing in front of him. The heart was jumping, and the boy was scared a lot.

Then the boy ran towards his friend's cowshed, and Swan left the place. Reaching the side of his friend's, the boy remembered that "La... no! If the Banjhakri approached him after eating with his friend? Then he stopped and listened to his friend's move.

And on the other hand, the boy who was in another cowshed heard something coming towards him. It could be a friend or something to eat... he sometimes listened to moves and said to his friend, "Oh, hoi, hoi."Then another boy replied, "Hoi, hoi." Then they come together. They set a big fire, and the boy who was hunted by Banjhakri shared his story with his friend, and the boy also shared his story. They keep the fire going all night.

After that, people refused to live on the cowshed, which was at the cliff's top. After a while, the cowshed fell down on itself.
