Once upon a time, an orphan girl's name was Subiu. Her father had brought along a stepmother. The stepmother hates and beats Subiu. Subiu had to cover the household chores, and the stepmother went to the forest to fetch grass and mushrooms. The stepmother ordered him to look after the drying mushroom. When the stepmother saw the mushrooms that had dried up a lot in the morning and a little bit in the evening, she got angry and beat Subiu, saying, "To whom have you shared the mushrooms all day long?" No matter how carefully they look after the drying mushrooms, the dehydrated mushrooms in the morning will soak a little in the evening. Poor Subiu didn't know how it happened. Subiu couldn't say anything because of his fear of his stepmother. She used to be beaten quietly. One day, my stepmother beat Subiu hard. Subiu died after being beaten hard by his stepmother. After the death of the Subiu, the stepmother had to stay behind to look after the drying mushrooms. Seeing that a lot of mushrooms appeared in the morning and dried up very little in the evening, she regretted that she had killed her stepdaughter. And when the stepmother turned into a bird, she would cry and say, "Subiu.. Subiu.."

(Subiu birds are still found in villages' surroundings.)
