उहिल्यै एउटा गाउँमा ससुरा बूहारी थियो रे । खानुको जहिल्यैको धौ...धौले वाक्क भएर एक दिन ससूराले बुहारीलाई भनेछ । त्यो मसाने बगरमा खेत बिह्राउनु पर्यो । खाजा, भात, खन्ने समानहरु दिउँसो मसाने बगरमा पुर्याउनु र फर्किनु तिमी त्यहाँ नबस्नु है भनेछन् ।
ससूराले भने अनुसार दिउँसो भरि खेप लगाएर खाजा, भात, खन्ने सामानहरु लगेर बूहारी त अलि माथि अग्लो रुखमा चढेर बसेछ । हैन...! यो ससूराले कसरी चाँहि खन्छ त । एक्लै छ । एतिका खानेकुरा ल्याउनु लगाएको छ । एतिका खन्ने सामान ल्याउनु लगाएको छ । अझ राती खन्छु भनेको छ । भनेर हेर्न देखिने ठाउँको अग्लो रुखमा चढेर बसेछ ।
राती ससूराले मसान जगाएर बिरमसान चाँहि मसानहरुको नाइकेलाई खेत खन्न अह्राएछ । बिरमसानले चारकिल्ला बाँधेर एति भित्र भएको मनुखेको खान पाउने सर्त बाँधेछ । मसान जगाउनेले पनि त्यो मसान घाटमा राती को नै होला र भनेर हुन्छ भनेछन् । बिरमसानले आफ्ना सेनामेना मसानहरुलाई खेत खन्न लगाएछ ।
मसानहरुले त रात भरिमा कति खन्यो खन्यो रे । मसानहरु बेला बेला सूर्ती खानु बस्छ रे । आज मानुखेको मासु खाने हो भन्छ रे । खाजा, भात पनि खाइसकेर खन्यो रे । फेरी पनि बस्छ रे आज मानुखेको मासु खाने हो भन्छ रे ।
बिहान भाले बास्ने बेला मसान फर्किने बेला लु यो बाँचा बाँधेको चारकिल्ला भित्र एउटा मनुखे छ । खाने आज्ञा देउ भनेर बिरमसानले मसान जगाउनेलाई भनेछ । मसान जगाउने मान्छेले हैन...अबो के भन्छ । यस्तो मसान घाटमा एति राति को मान्छे हुन्छ । मैं होला । लु मलाई नै खाउ भनेछ । हैन आज्ञा मात्रै देउ न हामी खाइहाल्छौ नि भनेछ । अब भो लु एति राती को चाँहि होला त लु खाउ मात्र भनेर आज्ञा दिएका मात्र के थिए रे ।
अग्लो रुखबाट ड्याम्म बूहारी पो झारेर पनि चालाङ्ग चिलिङ्ग एकै छिनमा कप्लाक्कुप्लुक खाइ पो सकेछन् । मसान जगाउने बुढालाई पनि एक भाग दिएछन् रे । मसान जगाउनेले पनि खानै पर्ने भएकोले बुढाले पनि बूहारीको मासु खाएछन् रे । अनि बिदा दिंदा पो बुढाले लु अब यति नै भोली आउनु पर्दैन खाजा भात ल्याउने मान्छे मारेर खाइहाल्यौ भनेछन् । अनि अघि भन्नु पर्दैन न त । खाजा भात ल्याउने मान्छे किन यहाँ राखेको त भनेर मासानले सोधेछ । हैन कहाँ मैंले राख्नु । मैंले झन यहाँ बस्नु हुदैन । बेलैमा घर जानु भनेको त कस्तो रुखमा चढेर बसेको त बूहारी पनि भनेछ ।
लु अब एति नै भो भोलीदेखि आउनु पर्दैन भनेर मसानहरुलाई बिदा गरेछन् । त्यो ५ मूरी पाथी धानको बिउको ठूलो मसाने खेत अरुण पारी छ भनिन्छ रे ।

Folklore: A Tale of Masane Khet

Once upon a time, the Sasura (father-in-law) and his Buhari (daughter-in-law) lived in a village. One day, Sasura told his Buhari that he was fed up with the uncertainty of food. He was planning to build a paddy field in the Masane Bagar (a cemetery field in the river basin). Sasura said to Buhari, "You should prepare foods, drinks, and digging materials for the Masane Bagar in the afternoon and return before the sunset."
According to Sasura, Buhari prepared foods, drinks, and the digging tools and brought them to the Masane Bagar in the afternoon. But she was surprised that her Sasura was alone there, and that he had ordered so much food and tools.What will he do to accomplish such goals?How would he build the paddy field in the cemetery field? Then, as Sasura instructed, she returned home from the Masane Bager before sunset.But she climbed up a big tree on the hill, from where she could clearly observe the Masane Bagar.
At night, Sasura woke up Masan (the devils) with his black magic power and asked the leader of Masan to dig a field. Bir Masan (the head of the devils) fortified the area from four directions and asked permission that if they found any, they would eat that human being inside the area, but they will eat, and they thought that in the night, who will be there in the cemetery area?Bir Masan ordered his troops to make a paddy field in the cemetery field.

The devil's troops cleared a lot of paddy fields in a short time. Masanas take breaks for tobacco on occasion.Masana says that "we will be going to eat human flesh today." Masana keeps continuing to build a paddy field after eating foods and drinks. Each time tobacco breaks, they keep repeating the same things: "We will be going to eat human flesh today."
When the red rooster crows in the morning, it is time for Maans to return.Masana said to the old man, "There is a man inside the fort." We are going to eat. Please give us permission. The old man was in trouble hearing that from the Masanas. He said, "What are you talking about with this nonsense?" On this night in the cemetery area, who will be here? Are you talking about me? "If you want to eat me, please go on." Masanas said, "No, that is not you; you just give us permission and we will eat." Then the old man said, "Well, if there is a human being inside your fortified body, you can eat; permission granted." No sooner than the old man gives them permission, Masanas drops a human body from the top of the tall tree with the sound of Dammam. That was Buhari. The old man was speechless, and Masanas ate the flesh in zero time. Masanas also gave a portion of flesh to the old man. He had no option but to eat, and he ate the flesh of Buhari.
When it was time to say goodbye, the old man thanked Masanas and said, "Thanks for coming and building the paddy field; this project is over here; you don't have to come back tomorrow because we don't have the manpower to prepare foods and drinks." "The person who prepared for today is you; you already ate." Then Masana said, "If she is the one who prepares foods and drinks, why did you not tell us before, and why did you keep her here?" The old man said, "I told her you shouldn't be here, and she was leaving for home before the sunset, but who knows that she has climbed the tree and stayed here? Leave it." The past is the past. This is the time for me to leave you. "This is already early morning."
Masana leaves early in the morning. It is said that a large paddy field, the Masane Khet, is in Arun Pari (on another side of the Arun river).
